The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) is a nonprofit organization serving Santa Barbara County for over 75 years. Since 1949, CADA has delivered programs and services focused on education, prevention, and treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health conditions affecting youth, adults, and families throughout Santa Barbara County. CADA provides a continuum of quality care in a safe and nurturing environment, working in partnership with local schools, community leaders, law enforcement, health care providers, and other nonprofits. Youth and family programs include outpatient treatment through Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Centers, youth diversion and mentoring programs, parent support services, and school-based therapy. Adult treatment programs include residential treatment with 24-hour withdrawal management and care, outpatient treatment through Project Recovery, a perinatal program for pregnant and parenting women, and court-referred programs. Services are provided without regard to gender, gender preference, age, race, ethnicity, or national origin, and no one is turned away for inability to pay.
