About Copes Outpatient

OWhN is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 dedicated to health equity in Umatilla, Union, Morrow, and Walla Walla counties. The organization emerged from the Yellowhawk Tribal Center of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in response to profound community needs for substance use and opioid use support, suicide prevention, and to address health disparities. OWhN now comprises ten organizations including four hospitals, three county health departments, a community college, a regional mental health treatment provider (Eastern Oregon Recovery Center), and the Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center. The organization provides behavioral and mental health, physical wellbeing, and public health services to thousands of patients and community members. Services include substance use disorder and opioid use disorder treatment, harm reduction, crisis support through a warmline, peer support services, and life skills training. OWhN coordinates with local healthcare providers and community organizations to create a network of care addressing poverty, inadequate healthcare services, insurance gaps, health disparities, and substance use disorder. The organization operates in Northeast Oregon and Southeast Washington and is expanding crisis support services to 24/7 availability.
