CooperRiis Healing CommunityResidential Treatment in Asheville, NC
Great to meet you
CooperRiis is a residential healing community and progressive transitional living program for adults 18+ struggling with mental health challenges. Located in Asheville and Mill Spring, North Carolina, the organization offers two primary residential programs: CooperRiis at Asheville, a clinically intensive short-term program, and The Farm, a therapeutic farm-based long-term program. They also provide transitional living services for semi-independent supported living. CooperRiis treats adults with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, dual diagnosis, neurodiversity support, personality disorders, PTSD, and schizophrenia. The program is person-centered and strength-based, using a philosophical model called The Seven Domains developed by the organization's original clinicians. Treatment incorporates meaningful work, integrated wellness practices, trusted clinical therapies, and community involvement. Residents begin by crafting a personal dream statement that guides their recovery journey, with clinical teams providing support and guidance.

Evidence-based approaches
Holistic
Holistic Care. Adds nutrition, sleep, movement, and mind-body practices alongside the clinical work. Recovery is whole-person; the body matters too.
Group therapy
Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.
Trauma-informed care
Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.
