Chari Mountain Community Service Board (CMCSB) is one of 40 Community Service Boards in Virginia, offering a comprehensive array of services in child and family, developmental disability, mental health, and substance abuse. Located in Southwestern Virginia between Roanoke and Knoxville, the organization serves Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties with a population of more than 100,000. CMCSB operates more than twenty locations across the three counties and employs approximately 480 full-time and part-time staff. The agency serves individuals from newborn infants to the elderly with every possible mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability diagnosis. Many programs have received local, regional, state, and national recognition for innovation. Services include child and family programs, developmental disability services including group homes, mental health services with emergency services and deaf services, telehealth, and substance abuse services. No individual will be denied access to services due to inability to pay, with a discounted/sliding fee schedule available for individuals who qualify.
