Clean and Sober Streets

Clean and Sober Streets is a recovery program for men and women motivated to recover and change their lives, located in Washington, DC. The program serves individuals who come to them homeless, unemployed, facing incarceration, or sick and tired of their addiction. The program emphasizes healing through clear boundaries and a therapeutic community approach where clients stabilize and engage in internal work. The curriculum addresses the relationship between addiction and trauma, the impacts of mental health on sobriety, and the importance of community to recovery. Treatment incorporates a variety of modalities including art therapy, music therapy, meditation, poetry groups, book clubs, body and breathwork. The program is founded on the belief that in the absence of drugs and alcohol, individuals are capable of staying clean, realizing their potential, and living a meaningful life.
