About Central Alabama VA Healthcare System

The VA provides mental health services to Veterans across multiple service eras including Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraq War, Gulf War, Cold War, Vietnam War, Korean War, and World War II. Services address PTSD, depression, military sexual trauma, suicide prevention, anxiety, substance use problems, and adjustment to civilian life. Over 1.7 million Veterans received mental health services at the VA in the past year. Services range from peer support with other Veterans to counseling, therapy, and medication. Access is available through VA medical centers and Vet Centers with no requirement to be enrolled in VA health care. The VA offers in-person services at any VA medical center anytime day or night, as well as telemental health options for those unable to attend in person.
