Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (WPHW) is a tribal health organization serving the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, Aroostook Band of Micmacs, Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and the Penobscot Nation. WPHW provides culturally-centered healing and recovery services, substance use prevention, behavioral and substance use treatment, medication assisted treatment, case management, peer-run recovery services, housing security support, and health and wellness programs. The organization serves all Wabanaki people and other indigenous people across Maine, as well as non-indigenous people through select programs. WPHW reaches over 7,000 individuals annually and centers culture, ceremony, language, and traditions at the heart of the recovery journey. Services include an intensive outpatient program, detox and MAT program, recovery homes, prevention services, and community healing and cultural activities.
