Catholic Human Services (CHS) is a provider of compassionate care and professional support throughout Northern Lower Michigan, serving all 21 counties through a network of regional and satellite offices in Traverse City, Alpena, Gaylord, and Cadillac. Founded in 1972 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gaylord, CHS offers a continuum of services to more than 26,000 individuals annually, including behavioral health counseling, substance misuse treatment and prevention, pregnancy counseling and open adoption, senior support, and community-based social services. The organization is committed to serving individuals and families of all backgrounds, regardless of faith, income, race, or ethnicity. CHS delivers evidence-based programs and is dedicated to restoring hope, strengthening families, and fostering resilience in the communities it serves.
