About this practice
About
The Charles W. Cammack Children's Center is a residential facility founded in 1914 originally as the Huntington Union Mission Settlement. The center serves adolescent youth ages 12 through 17, both male and female, in a dormitory style setting with a current census of 32 children. The facility provides structured living situations combined with treatment addressing underlying issues. The center's mission is to develop each child's potential and prepare them to return home, to foster care, or to independent living ready to make positive contributions to their community. In 1980, the center shifted its focus from infants and small children to adolescent youth, implementing a New Directions campaign to expand and develop more treatment-oriented programming.
