About
The Boulder Alcohol Education Center (BAEC) was established in 1982 to provide accessible, low-cost, professional substance abuse outpatient evaluation and treatment in Boulder, Colorado. Founded by John Gilburt Ph.D., CAC III, Licensed Psychologist, BAEC specializes in DUI/DUID/DWAI education and therapy, offender education and treatment, relapse prevention, and evaluation for court, custody, and professional licensing purposes. The center has expanded to treat complex dual diagnosis cases and serves clients from across Colorado and beyond. BAEC is licensed as an Outpatient Treatment Program by the Colorado Department of Behavioral Health. The program philosophy emphasizes personal responsibility, understanding the dynamics of problem behaviors, and treating clients with privacy, respect, and dignity. Services are delivered online via Zoom and include individual counseling, family support programs, marijuana treatment, university student intervention, and specialized programs for minors. BAEC is acknowledged by the community and state as one of the most effective and largest private outpatient programs of its type in Colorado.
