Great to meet you

The BVEC is a full-service education cooperative and licensed mental health center providing special education related services and school-based mental health services to five Ravalli County member school districts in Montana (Florence, Lone Rock, Stevensville, Victor, and Darby). The organization evaluates children in need of special education, develops individualized education plans (IEPs), and delivers related services including speech therapy, audiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, adapted PE, assistive technology, psychological assessment, and counseling. School-based mental health services are provided through a Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT) model by licensed Mental Health Therapists and Behavior Specialists in collaboration with parents and teachers. The BVEC employs Master's and Bachelor's level trained specialists including Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, School Psychologists, and Behavior Consultants who provide screening, evaluation, direct service, consultation, and training to support students in inclusive school settings.

Role

Therapist

Evidence-based approaches

Activity therapy

Activity Therapy. Structured therapeutic activities, recreation, movement, hands-on tasks, used as a vehicle for connection and emotional regulation. Often paired with talk therapy in residential and group programs.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
