Beginning Step is a substance abuse and co-occurring mental health treatment program founded in 2006 in Southeast Michigan. The organization provides comprehensive treatment services for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and dual-diagnosed substance use/mental health disorders. They offer an individualized, person-centered, holistic, and client-centered approach with flexible length of stay options ranging from 2 weeks to 2 years. The program features 7 different levels of care that clients may enter and exit flexibly, comprehensive needs assessments, full recreational programming, peer mentoring services, and free/reduced housing for program participants. Beginning Step serves individuals with Medicaid/Medicare insurance and is licensed by the State of Michigan. The practice is located in the Detroit area and serves as a provider for the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.
