Catholic Charities is a movement to improve lives with a family of nearly 2,000 colleagues, over 4,000 volunteers, and more than 10,000 donors. They touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals and families each year through over 80 programs. The organization was founded in Baltimore in 1792 when Archbishop John Carroll declared that a portion of all parish revenues be set aside for the relief of the poor. Catholic Charities offers assistance to those in need in the Baltimore area and serves people of all faiths, ages, and ethnicities.
