AMAAD Institute (Arming Minorities Against Addiction & Disease) is a community-rooted organization based in South Los Angeles that provides holistic, culturally responsive services to impacted communities. They offer transitional housing, behavioral health services including therapy and peer support with a focus on healing trauma in Black communities, HIV prevention and care, community care events, youth development and diversion programs with mentorship and alternatives to incarceration, and training and education workshops. Services are designed for youth, transgender women, formerly incarcerated individuals, and system-impacted youth. The organization operates through peer-driven support networks and healing-centered care led by and for the community.
