AlterNativa

AlterNativa is a treatment center for addiction and mental health, providing exclusively Spanish-language services created by and for the Latino community. The center treats substance use disorders including alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, fentanilo, opioids, benzodiazepines, and prescription medications, as well as behavioral addictions such as sex/pornography addiction, compulsive gambling, compulsive shopping, and problematic use of technology, social media, video games, work, and exercise. They also treat mental health comorbidities including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, and chronic stress. The center operates from a psychodynamic model to understand unconscious emotions that drive addictive pathologies. They emphasize cultural competency and family integration in the recovery process.
