BestSelf Behavioral Health is the largest community-based behavioral health organization serving children and adults of all ages in Western New York. Formed in June 2017 through the merger of Child & Adolescent Treatment Services and Lake Shore Behavioral Health, the organization has a combined 120 years of service history. BestSelf provides mental health and substance use disorder treatment and rehabilitation services across numerous locations. The organization operates Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics designed to improve overall health by caring for the whole person, integrating behavioral health care with physical health care, and using evidence-based practices. Services include education and vocational supports, mobile mental health and substance use disorder services, homeless outreach and housing, community and school-based programs, and a Child Advocacy Center that works with law enforcement and medical, mental health, and child protection professionals to provide coordinated response for children and families experiencing trauma. The organization is licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health and the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports.
